Louis Pasteur

Louis Pasteur once said, "In the field of observation, chance favors only the prepared mind". (Buxton, p.17)

Resource used to find this quote was the book, Teaching Science in Elementary and Middle School A Cognitive and Cultural Approach.

  1. For our blogging assignment this week, we were asked to answer the following question:
    #9 from the Icecaps lesson
What happens if the polar ice caps melt? Global warming could put people at the risk of flooding by melting glaciers, thus leading to a world wide food shortage crisis.
My only question to this experiment is, do the ice cubes melt fast enough for the students so that they do not lose focus on the experiment? I will find out tomorrow when I do this with my students.
